Coyote Prosthetics and Orthotics (formerly Rehab Systems) was founded in 1994. The employees of Coyote have been serving Idaho for over 25 years. It is partnered with sister company Coyote Design, a prosthetic manufacturer, as a testing facility for technologically advanced product development. By combining the latest technologies with years of practical experience we are able to offer our clients the highest level of service possible.

Our Clinicians

Coyote P&O employs a highly trained staff. Clinicians possess either a bachelor's degree or a post secondary degree in prosthetics orthotics. Training includes kinesiology physical assessments.

Our clinicians are also ABC certified (the highest level of credentialing in the field). Clinicians are required to regularly attend continuing education seminars to stay abreast of new developments. Keeping informed of new technology and products helps us best serve our patients. We are constantly striving to improve our products, performance, durability and cosmesis.

Patient Care Services

When a patient is referred with a prescription from a doctor, the clinician will assess each patient's unique situation, needs, and goals. We will evaluate range of motion, muscle strength, and alignment. We will also take into consideration the potential for recovery, needs for vocation or occupation, and any concerns the patient may have in order to develop a device that will best suit their needs. The patient is involved in the decision process. We like to work as a team with the patient, family, physician, therapist and home health nurse.

Tom Whittaker meets Coyote Prosthetics and Orthotics  (Formerly Rehab Systems)

Dale Perkins met Tom in 1979 shortly after Tom lost his foot in an accident. Tom Whittaker is the first amputee to summit Mt. Everest and was a Rehab Systems patient. (Now Coyote Prosthetics and Orthotics)

Tom summited Mt. Everest as a mountaineer not as a tourist. Meaning he hiked the whole way with limited support. Rehab Systems built four sockets for Tom, two technical climbing sockets and two trekking sockets.

Tom Whittaker’s inspiring story of climbing Mount Everest is in the book he wrote “Higher Purpose.”
